A cemetery in the forest

Germany, Berlin-Stahndorf, Januari 2, 2017

Today I went to the Südwestfriedhof in Berlin-Stahndorf. It is a huge cemetery  in the forest. Or should I say a forest with scattered graves all over. In it there are also two war cemeteries - one for British and one for Italian soldiers who died as prisoners of war during the Great War (1914-1918).
There used to be a city train from Wannsee to the cemetery. It commuted to and fro until the Wall was built. Wannsee was part of West-Berlin, Stahndorf of East-Germany. Slowly the tracks and the station decayed - the line wasn't re-opened after the fall of the wall - and now trees grow on the platforms.
